Add your first product

Open Products in the sidebar and press Add Product. The form moves one step at a time; use Next step and Previous step to move between them.

Step 1: Details

1. 1

   Choose the type.

   Under Goods or service, say whether you sell a physical item or a service. Under Product type, pick Simple product or Has variants (for example, sizes and colours).

2. 2

   Add a name and category.

   Product Name and Product Category are required. No categories yet? The smart-suggest button next to the category field proposes one from the product name and creates it.

3. 3

   Add a description and photos.

   The first photo is the product’s cover in your shop. You can add up to 10 photos per product.

Step 2: Price and stock

Sale price

What the customer pays. Required.

Purchase price

Optional, but fill it in and the form shows your profit and margin right away.

Add a discount

A percentage or a fixed amount off. Schedule the discount gives it a start and end date.

Product code and Barcode

Both optional. Leave the code empty and ProMall builds one from the name.

Warehouse stock

Your starting quantity. If the item never runs out, set Stock type to Unlimited.

Step 3: Shipping

This step is for physical goods only. Enter the packed Weight (g) and, if you like, Add parcel dimensions. If you cover delivery yourself, turn on This product ships free.

Steps 4 and 5: Publishing and review

Publishing has a single switch, Show in shop. Turn it off and the product is saved but hidden from customers. Check everything on Review and press Publish Product.

Once it’s live

• When editing, every section is on one page and the button is Save changes.
• Stock can only be typed in while creating a product. After that, change it in Inventory.
• Refresh mid-way and your draft comes back; leave the page without saving and it’s cleared.
• To create a similar product, duplicate one from the product list and change only what differs.
