In this lesson

  • Add your domain to your shop
  • Set the DNS records correctly at your domain provider
  • Recognise connection errors
On this page — 3 sections
  1. Add your domain
  2. If it won’t connect
  3. Disconnecting

Every shop has a free address: “username.promall.io”. Using your own domain needs an active Pro plan or higher. Each shop takes one domain, and www counts as a separate address.

Add your domain

  1. Open Domain & DNS.

Or, from the Studio, Site traffic and settings, then Domain.

  2. Enter just the hostname.

No https:// and no path; for example, yourstore.com. Then press Add domain.

  3. Add the DNS records at your domain provider.

The status becomes Awaiting DNS. Copy each record name and value exactly: a TXT record to prove ownership, and A records (plus AAAA, if shown) to point the domain at your shop.

  4. Press Check connection.

The status moves through HTTPS setup to Connected, and the security certificate is issued automatically.

If it won’t connect

DNS needs fixing
The TXT record is missing, or the domain points somewhere else.
HTTPS needs checking
If you have CAA records, allow letsencrypt.org.
Subscription needed
Your plan has lapsed; renew it.

Disconnecting

Open connection management and disconnect. Your promall.io address works again immediately.
