Set up payments
Turn on the ways customers can pay you, and set how long an order holds stock and waits for payment.
In this lesson
- Turn on your first payment method
- Understand what each kind of method needs
- Set the payment window and stock hold
No order can be placed until at least one payment method is on. Open Settings, then Payment. The methods come in three kinds:
- Direct payment
- Bank transfer. The customer pays into your account and uploads proof, which you approve on the receipts page.
- Payment gateways
- Online card payment. Gateways usually ask for business verification before they’ll go live.
- Buy now, pay later
- Instalment providers for eligible orders.
Payment window and stock hold
In Settings, then Order Management, decide how long each order holds its stock and how long the customer has to pay:
- Stock hold
- 5 to 120 minutes; 60 by default.
- Payment window
- 15 to 60 minutes; 30 by default.
- Renew an expired link
- If the customer comes back late and the items are still in stock, the order link comes back to life. You choose how many times.
